Brave New World is a novel by Aldous Huxley written and published in 1932. In this novel, it presents Huxley's vision of the future- of a world transformed. Through the most efficient scientific and psychological engineering, people are genetically designed to be passive and therefore, are consistently useful to the ruling class. The world in this novel is ironic. Humanity is carefree, healthy, and technologically advanced. War and poverty are gone and everyone is happy from the government providing stimulation. What is ironic about it is that to make this a perfect world they have gotten rid of items that have been central to their identity like their family, their art, their literature, and thier culture. This is a very sexual society. They talk about pleasure and drug use, especiall the drug called soma, a powerful drug taken to reduce pain and escape from memories.

Would I Recommend This Book?
I would recommend this book for a higher grade. It was a very complicated, sexual, and technological novel. I would not recommend this book for any lower grade than 11th grade for the reason of this novel is a very advanced readers book. It goes very deep into the future about genetically created things. Its relates to a lot of types of science and chemistry classes. So if your into that kind of reading, then this is your kind of novel, and if your not into this type of reading then i would recommend that you choose a different type of novel.
